In our opinion this is the ultimate hook for the fluorocarbon D-rig. The straight eye increase massivley the strength of your rig, simply beacuse it does not create a weak point where the fluorocarbon line exit the eye. We are sure every angler who have used hooks with in-turned eye for fluorocarbon rigs have seen how the line get “squeezed” right at the exit of the eye as soon as you start to put some pressure, well, this really bad side effect is reduced significantly by using a straight eye. No need to add line aligner sleeves or kickers with the WGS hooks on semi stiff and stiff rigs, the ultra wide gape cobined with the straight and long point will create a super fast and effective rotation of the hook resulting in perfect hook hold. Of course this hook can be used with soft braided hooklength as well, and the classic blow-out rig with a silicon sleeve on the hook bend is the one we recommend the most !
